Where are you based in New Zealand?

I’m based in the amazing town of Queenstown, which is known as the Adventure Capital of the World. It’s a fantastic spot with stunning views and loads of outdoor activities right on your doorstep.

How many years have you been working in the travel industry?

I’ve been in the travel game for 26 years. It’s been an incredible journey, helping people explore some of the most beautiful places around, especially New Zealand.

Can you share a memorable experience or a challenging booking you successfully managed?

One memorable experience was working with a client to create a detailed 15-day Lord of the Rings self-drive tour across New Zealand. It involved a lot of back-and-forth to get everything just right, but seeing their excitement and hearing how much they loved the trip made all the effort worth it. It was great knowing they had such an unforgettable adventure!

What do you enjoy most about helping clients plan their trips?

I really enjoy getting to know what clients are passionate about and then putting together a trip that matches their interests. It’s great knowing they’re going to have a fantastic time and make amazing memories with all the great options we have in New Zealand.

Do you have a favourite New Zealand destination or travel experience that you recommend to travellers?

There are so many fantastic places, but I’d definitely recommend checking out New Zealand’s guided walks. Whether you’re into a day hike or something longer, these walks are a great way to see the stunning landscapes and unique native plants and wildlife. The Routeburn Track and the Tongariro Alpine Crossing are both incredible experiences that really showcase New Zealand’s natural beauty.

How do you stay updated with travel trends and industry developments?

I stay updated by joining webinars, attending training sessions, and keeping up with industry news. It’s all about staying connected and informed so I can offer the latest and greatest advice to my clients.

What tips or advice do you have for travellers planning to visit New Zealand?

Make sure to take your time and include plenty of stops at scenic spots and short walks. New Zealand is full of beautiful places and hidden gems that are definitely worth a visit. Don’t rush through—it’s better to spend more time in fewer places and really soak up the amazing scenery. Plus, it gives you a great excuse to come back and explore even more!
