Hawke’s Bay

You really can’t lose with Hawke’s Bay. Yes, you will find some amazing wines emanating from here. And the place is mostly flat, which means jumping on a bike to explore the vineyards is a great way to go. But if you love the beach and nature too, Hawkes Bay has plenty to offer – there is  360 kilometres of pristine coastline where you can catch a wave or drop a line.

The taste buds are on a winner with the vino, but there’s also food for the soul with plenty of Maori cultural heritage, which you can take in on a city walking tour. A feast for the eyes awaits too with not only the stunning natural beauty, but the art deco architecture that features heavily.

Then, like many others before you, why not grab a happy snap with the sign at Taumata whakatangi hangakoauau o tamatea turi pukakapiki maunga horo nuku pokai whenua kitanatahu – the longest place name in the world.
