Itinerary
Immerse yourself in the spectacular South Island landscape as you indulge in glass cabin luxury and pure privacy for an unforgettable PurePod journey. Explore your own isolated slice of paradise, revel in the birdsong all day long and sleep with the stars of the spectacular southern sky from the comfort of your luxury bed. Return to the Garden City where you will enjoy five-star comfort at the boutique Sudima Hotel Christchurch City.
Arrive at Christchurch and collect your car hire. It is only an hour’s trip to your first PurePod stay located at Port Levy. Your journey to the Pōhue PurePod starts with a scenic drive around Banks Peninsula past Charteris Bay and Diamond Harbour, then up over hill above Purau.
The Pōhue PurePod sits just below some macrocarpa trees, behind which you can glimpse The Monument, a rocky crag standing on the ridge between Purau and Port Levy. From the PurePod you have beautiful views across the tussock grasses and rolling hills down to the long, sheltered bay of Port Levy. With no one nearby, you can sit back, relax and soak in the views.

After a leisurely morning, you journey back to Christchurch and continue an hour north. The Greystone PurePod is set high above the award-winning Greystone vineyard, right in the heart of the Waipara Valley wine producing region.
The Greystone PurePod sits on a spur in a paddock, high above the winery. While you are tucked away in your own private oasis, you have vast views down onto the winery and up the Waipara Valley. Depending on the time of the year, while relaxing on the PurePod deck, you may be able to glimpse workers in the far distance beavering away in the vines removing shoots, managing the foliage wires, picking grapes, or pruning.
Immerse yourself into the stunning beauty of Waipara before you depart to your next PurePod. The Manakau PurePod is situated in a vast landscape with perfect views of the mighty Seaward Kaikōura Mountain Range (including Mt Manakau). It is only 20 minutes inland from Kaikōura.
The PurePod sits on a spur in a paddock with kanuka trees for company and birds singing all day long in the nearby gullies. As you look out from the deck the vastness of the location is overwhelming. North facing, the PurePod looks straight at Mt Fyffe, snow covered for much of the year, and the mighty Manakau mountain rising to over 2600 metres, the largest peak in the Seaward Kaikōura range.

This morning you will take part in New Zealand’s ultimate Marine experience. Whale Watch is New Zealand’s only vessel-based whale watching company offering an exciting up-close encounter with the world’s largest toothed predator the Giant Sperm Whale in their natural environment at all times of the year. Depending on the amount of time available after viewing the Sperm whales, the captain of the vessel may decide to move in along the coastline and see what other types of marine life can be encountered. This could include Dusky and Hector Dolphins and the New Zealand Fur Seal.
After your cruise, it’s time to head back to Christchurch for your last night at Sudima Hotel Christchurch City. This 5-star boutique hotel is ideally located on Victoria Street amidst an array of cafes, restaurants and bars and is only a stone’s throw from beautiful Hagley Park and Christchurch CDB.
Enjoy a relaxed breakfast before checking out of your accommodation. Drop your car hire off at the airport before checking in for your flight home.
